My Favourite Colour

Ever since I started work on designing the concept, brand and interior of my shop SMUG in Camden Passage, Islington, yellow has been a key element. It’s the necessary bright in the SMUG colour palette for the puttys, greys and celeadons to complement. It’s found it’s way onto lots of the products we stock too. Every time I have the opportunity to collaborate on a product with a designer it seems to end up being 102 C. Our Matt Pugh owl made exclusively for us is hand carved in oak or walnut and lacquered with 102 C. Our Mustard Bunny cushion made by Donna Wilson exclusively for us is that same palette. What can I say? I gravitate towards it every time.
